His maniacal laugh echoed through the stark hallways at odds with the peaceful quiet of early morning.
“At last!” He shouted. “At last I have created a man who will be mine to command!”
The room feel silent as everyone’s eyes fell upon him.
He ignored the voice.
He looked up from his creation to see his wife lying wearily on the bed.
“David,” she began again, “we have discussed this. You weren’t to do your Dr Frankenstein impressions in the birthing suite.”
He looked up at the midwives who were looking decidedly disturbed by his outburst and smiled sheepishly.
“Besides,” she added. “She’s a girl.”
